It all started with a bright pair of regimental socks to go with the regimental tie, bought a couple of years ago for a TA bash, only after the said ‘bash’ I couldn’t seem to take them off. As my courage grew I started to wear them with jeans, chinos and all manner of casual clothes, every morning as I stare at my sock draw I somehow can’t bring myself to pick any other these days, all the dull blues and blacks now consigned to the back of the wardrobe.
